Profiles

Professor Yukitaka Kato graduated from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 1985 with a B. Sc. He performed his graduate study at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) in the Department of Chemical Engineering obtaining his PhD in 1991. He then took up a position as an Assistant Professor and Professor at the Research Laboratory for Nuclear Reactors in Tokyo Tech. He has been Professor at the Laboratory for Advanced Nuclear Energy since 2016. He has been Professor at the Laboratory for Advanced Nuclear Energy, Institute of Innovative Research, since 2016. He is a Professor board member of Graduate Major in Nuclear Engineering, Department of Chemical Science and Engineering in School of Materials and Chemical Technology, Department of Transdisciplinary Science and Engineering in School of Environment and Society, Department of Nuclear Engineering, Department of Environmental Science and Technology in Tokyo Tech. He was a Visiting Professor at Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), US, in 2017, and visited at the Centre for Study of Environmental Change and Sustainability at the University of Edinburgh, UK, as a research fellow in 1997-1998.
